Synopsis
尼克（伊万·麦克格雷格 Ewan McGregor 饰）虽然身为银行的小小职员，但他从未放弃过升职发财的梦想。在一次外派工作中，尼克结识了漂亮迷人的莉莎（安娜·弗莱尔 Anna Friel 饰），坠入情网的两人很快就结为夫妻，开始了幸福的生活。一次偶然中，尼克发现了银行系统的漏洞，而这个漏洞使得他能够从中牟利，在利用这个漏洞度过一次经济危机后，莉莎发现了他的不轨行为。 虽然向妻子保证过不再利用这个漏洞，但在巨大的利益面前，尼克无法控制自己。尼克的工作做得越来越好，职位越来越高，但与此同时，他肩上的压力也越来越大。常在河边走哪有不湿鞋，当错误无法盖过错误，谎言无法掩饰谎言之时，便是尼克付出代价的时刻。
