Synopsis
在报社做见习记者的周水明一心要写出一篇惊世之作。他乔装改扮成农民工，和农村后生李振东同时被招进一个偏远的小煤窑，打算了解其中的黑幕。但他很快就暴露了身份，矿长命人把他关在井下，扬言要把他变成白毛老鼠。周水明目睹了矿工们所受的非人待遇，他鼓励大家团结起来进行反抗。历经曲折，他把情况反映到县里，期盼政府来解救他们。但眼前的一幕出现时，他们惊讶了。提着钱袋和矿长走在一起的竟然是副县长。愤怒的矿工把他们团团围住，周水明激愤地斥责了他们的行为。这时一辆警车开到矿上，王副县长被双规、矿长一行被带走，大家正感到惊讶时，纪检委书记给大家揭开了谜底，原来李振东是纪检委派出的卧底。
