Synopsis
1949年的一天夜里，原国民党中将王约翰在香港的寓所中被人杀害。凶手是谁？《民报》的美籍华人记者麦克锋(王志文饰)不顾个人安危，进行了秘密采访。他的女友唐丽媛(卓雷饰)在报社的资料室工作，帮麦克锋找到一些线索，麦克锋发现这件谋杀案背景复杂……
