Synopsis
義憤にかられ、江戸の町を火の海にしようとたくらむ浪人・愛染と、それを阻む狂四郎の対決。伊藤大輔の脚本を得て一段とスケール・アップした第8作。大火をバックに大屋根で展開する天知茂扮する愛染との一騎打ちなど三隅の演出が冴えわたり、シリーズ屈指の出来に仕上がった。
