Synopsis
从小因患小儿麻痹症而右手残疾的张英顶替了胡萍而成为了新一届的先进生产者。张英想了解生产下降的原因，于是走访了胡萍家。胡萍的哥哥告诉她，胡萍因为和马路工谈恋爱跟母亲闹僵，以离开家搬到厂里去住。张英借学游泳的机会接近胡萍，并再访胡萍家，对胡母谈起胡萍对母亲的思念。胡母看见自己介绍给女儿的男朋友驾驶摩托车载着儿子的女友而昏了过去，张英的男友——马路工宋力德救了她。母亲终于觉悟，有情人终成眷属，儿子胡晋也向心灵高尚的张英表达了爱慕之情。
