Synopsis
供职于五十岚流浪犬收容所的神崎彰司（堺雅人 饰）是一名真心喜爱动物的善良男子，此前他在动物园供职期间与妻子千夏（檀丽 饰）结合，生下一双可爱的儿女。妻子去世后，彰司转职收容所，虽然尽可能地帮更多狗狗找到新的主人，但仍无奈地一次次按下按钮，终结狗狗的生命。此时此刻， 他心中的悲伤可想而知。某天，彰司和同事遭遇了一只带着幼犬的母狗。母狗凶猛异常，为了保护孩子不惜一切。虽然遭到来自主管的压力，可是彰司无论如何不愿伤害狗狗母子。他想方设法延长收容期，四处奔走联系新的主人，在这一过程中也渐渐与母犬建立了信任。只是，最后一刻终将到来…… 本片根据发生在宫崎县的真实事件改编。
