Synopsis
年仅6岁的劳德•舍曼（Shirley Temple 秀兰•邓波 饰）是一个天真可爱的小女孩，她憨态可掬，招人疼爱，父亲的士兵都戏谑地称之为小上校。劳德的母亲伊丽莎白（Evelyn Venable 饰）是一位南联盟军上校的女儿，她与来自北方的杰克坠入爱河，却遭致古板父亲（Lionel Barrymore 饰）的反对。最终伊丽莎白选择了爱情，而父亲也与之决裂。
