Synopsis
東野が1992年に発表した「ある閉ざされた雪の山荘で」は、登場人物が全員役者であり、彼らが挑む新作舞台の主役の座を懸けたオーディションの最終選考を、“大雪で外部との接触が断たれた山荘”という架空の密室空間で行う設定が話題を呼んだミステリー。映像化については、トリックや人物描写の複雑さから不可能との声が多く、東野自身も「想像もしませんでした」と明かしている。
