Synopsis
甘肃陇东黄土高坡的董志塬上，面临家庭经济的窘困，秀秀被迫辍学。青梅竹马的郭延平考上了大学，离开了董志塬。秀秀嫁给了自己并不喜欢的黄东东。郭延平大学毕业后回到乡里当了乡长。为了支持郭延平在乡里推行的实验项目，秀秀背上了沉重的经济债务。黄东东在金钱的诱惑下走上了盗窃之路而进了牢狱。秀秀背井离乡到城里打工分享者影视。与在党校学习的郭延平不期而遇。带着美好的憧憬，秀秀回到了家乡，在奶奶的倾心真传和郭延平的鼎力相助下，秀秀带领村里的妇女办起了刺绣厂。年轻的秀秀成为中国传统文化的传承者。
